Go Back Danlami Aliyu: In Memoriam
This is a brief recollection on the life and work of Danlami Aliyu by his mentor and friend with whom the Maraba Pottery was set up in Northern Nigeria in the early 1980s. Danlami was an important Nigerian potter who trained both at the Abuja Pottery Centre and with Michael Cardew at the Wenford Bridge Pottery in Cornwall, UK and represents the epitome of the British studio pottery movement introduced to Nigeria by Cardew and sustained by OBrien. Born in Minna on 21 February 1952, Danlami died 26 April 2012.
